Ruth and Juhl can each provide a simple, relaxing Swedish table massage to sooth your muscles and calm your nerves. You may also request that they pay special attention to specific muscle groups to alleviate pain through deep tissue techniques. Both have had specialized training in releasing specific muscle groups such as the illiopsoas or hip flexor muscle and the quadrates lumborum, an important muscle of the lower back. Both have also been trained in simple myofacial and trigger point techniques. When addressing specific issues of discomfort or pain, they often work together, combining their skills to provide you with comprehensive solutions to specific problems.
When performing Swedish relaxation or deep tissue massage on their massage table, Ruth and Juhl believe in creating a safe and pleasant environment. Their home clinic is professional, comfortable, inviting and calming. When you are receiving massage on the table, you will be very carefully draped with soft flannel sheets to preserve your privacy. In addition, Ruth and Juhl only work on the parts of your body that you give them permission to touch and will always be responsive to your concerns, questions, and special requests. Their primary concern is your sense of security and comfort. If you have never experienced massage, they are particularly adept at making your first experience feel safe and soothing. Whether you want simple relaxation or deep tissue work or are experiencing massage for the first time, it is very important for you to communicate your needs. Ruth and Juhl are very concerned about client's concerns. They welcome questions and special requests.
Ruth and Juhl use chair massage as an effective alternative to table massage. For clients who may be shy or feel uncomfortable with table massage, chair massage is a great alternative technique that is done with the client fully clothed. Chair massage can be either invigorating or relaxing and specific issues of pain or tension can be addressed. Chair massage works well in combination with an Alexander Technique lesson or craniosacral session.
